Community Involvement

At the Roy/Tedeschi/Schmidt Private Wealth Management Group, we feel strongly about the importance of giving back to the community. Working individually as and a team, we are involved directly with the following organizations.

3rd Annual Battle of the Brewers Futsal Tournament, Portland, ME

On July 22, 2023 Paul attended the 3rd Annual Battle of the Brewers Futsal Tournament in Portland, ME. The proceeds from the event went to support the Kennedy Park Football Club which is an organization that offers players from any walk of life a free-to-play sanctuary to put all worries aside and just enjoy the game of soccer.

Annual Tom Gustin Charity Tournament, Mashpee, MA

On October 3rd, 2022 Paul, Kris and Peter attended the 3rd Annual Tom Gustin Charity Golf Tournament in Mashpee, MA. The proceeds from the event went to support brain cancer, specifically glioblastoma, research at the world-renowned Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Habitat for Humanity, Malden, MA

On September 27th, 2022, Paul and JR attended a Habitat for Humanity event in Malden, MA. Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit housing organization working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in approximately 70 countries to build strength, stability and self-reliance in partnership with families in need of decent and affordable housing.

ALS One Snow Ball Gala, Quincy, MA

The Roy/Tedeschi/Schmidt Private Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors was a legacy sponsor for the ALS One Snow Ball Gala in Quincy, MA on March 11, 2022. All funds raised through donations, tickets sales, sponsorships, and all fundraising for the Snow Ball help to further ALS research and care.

James McDonough, Jr. Four-Ball Golf Tournament Milton, MA

Financial advisor Peter Cahill (left) of the Roy/Tedeschi/Schmidt Private Wealth Management Group teamed with client Ken Felter (right) to win the Eighth Annual James McDonough Four-Ball Tournament at Wollaston Golf Club in Milton, Massachusetts on July 30th, 2018. Their first place trophies were presented by the organizer of the Tournament, Dr. James McDonough (center). All funds raised at the Tournament are contributed to endowed scholarships within the Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund, St. Sebastian’s School and to aid young golfers in the First Tee of Massachusetts programs. Peter is well connected to the Tournament. He was a four-year golf letterman at St. Sebastian’s where he led the Arrows to back-to-back ISL Championships during his junior (2009) and senior (2010) years and later captained the Holy Cross Varsity Men’s Golf Team. He has been a long-time supporter of the Ouimet Scholarship Fund through his early days of caddying, contributing to the Fund, and participating in the annual amateur event. Congrats to Peter and Ken!”

ALS One, Belvidere, VT

The ROYALS Ride is scenic ride that takes place over two days in Belvidere, VT and Melrose, MA. Riders fundraise for the ALSONE. The Roy/Tedeschi/Schmidt Private Wealth Management Group sponsors team jerseys and Paul Roy leads Team RoyALS.

Sugarloaf Charity Summit Carrabassett Valley, Maine

For the 14th year in a row Wells Fargo Advisors has been the presenting sponsor of the Sugarloaf Charity Summit. Accepting the award (from left to right) Scott Finlay Managing Director - Investments/Boston, Alan Miller - Branch Manager/Bangor, Karl Strand - President and General Manager/Sugarloaf and Ben Smith - Complex Manager/Portland Market. This year the Charity Summit broke all records and raised over $260,000 to benefit the Maine Cancer Foundation, the Martha B. Webber Breast Cancer Center and for the first time the Dempsey Center. On hand as a special guest was renowned actor Patrick Dempsey aka Dr. McDreamy who undoubtedly had a positive impact on ticket sales! It was a wonderful evening for an important cause and we are proud to be associated.

Message of Hope Foundation

On October 5th 2017 Lauren and Peter attended the Message of Hope Foundation - Happy Hope Bag Factory event. Message of Hope Foundation delivers a boost of hope and happiness to hospitalized children through "Happy Hope Bag" therapeutic activity kits. They assemble Happy Hope Bags that provide activities to decrease stress and anxiety kits. They assemble Happy Hope Bags that provide activities to decrease stress and anxiety associated with hospitalization. Happy Hope Bags contain age appropiate, hospital approved items including, but not limited to: Play-Doh, coloring books, crayons, plush animals, reading books, playing cards, games, pediatric toothbrush/toothpaste kits, lip balm and a handmade Happy Hope Card made with the love by the volunteers.

MS 150 Cape Cod Getaway

The Cape Cod Getaway is a two day 150 mile bicycle ride to raise runds for the National MS Society. Over 2,000 riders pedal from Boston, MA to Provincetown, MA with an overnight stay at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Paul Roy has been a regular member of The Creeky Rider's team and The Roy/Tedeschi/Schmidt Private Wealth Management Group sponsors team jerseys.

Ride to Defeat ALS

The Ride to Defeat ALS is a scenic ride throughout the metro west area that starts and ends in Wayland, MA. Riders fundraise for the ALS Association of Massachusetts and have the option of a 10 Mile, 25 Mile, 50 Mile, and 70 Mile Course. The Roy/Tedeschi/Schmidt Private Wealth Management Group sponsors team jerseys and Paul Roy has lead Team Roy in The Ride to Defeat ALS since 2007. Starting out as a single rider, Paul has grown Team Roy to over 18 cyclists.

  • American Red Cross

    Red Cross volunteers and staff work to deliver vital services – from providing relief and support to those in crisis, to helping you be prepared to respond in emergencies.
  • New England Center for Homeless Veterans

    Volunteer - A non-profit homeless shelter for veterans who are addressing the challenges of addiction, trauma, severe and persistent mental illness, or unemployment.
  • Parent & Alumni Admission Council (PAAC)

    Volunteer - Interviews with prospective students for The Hotchkiss School who are unable to travel to campus.
  • ALS Foundation for Life

    Board Member. Fundraising organization offering assistance to families to help ease the physical, emotional and financial burden of an ALS diagnosis.
  • Massachusetts ALS Association

    Encourages scientific research to find a cure for ALS, heightens awareness of the nature of the disease, and will provide a basis for research related to the causes and cures for the disease.
  • ALS One

    Volunteer – ALS One works to help find a cure for ALS while improving care now for those living with the disease.
  • Maine Cancer Foundation/Martha B. Webber Breast Cancer Center

    Promoting and supporting scientific research and family support for individuals diagnosed with cancer. Wells Fargo Advisors, in conjunction with The Roy/Tedeschi/Schmidt Group, have been the major sponsor of the Sugarloaf Charity Summit since 2005.
  • Francis Ouimet Scholarship

    Peter is a supporter, tournament participant, and promoter of the largest independent scholarship fund in New England. The Francis Ouimet Scholarship is commited to providing need-based scholarship aid to students who have demonstrated a strong work ethic by having completed at least two years of service to golf. The Ouimet Fund rewards accomplishment through competitive, renewable award. The fund is dedicated to providing the golfing community with an opportunity to "give back to golf" and society by assisting youth in furthering their education. The Fund also seeks to preserve the history of Francis Ouiment's contributions to American golf.
